Here is what I think all of the the tree-ring dates
from 5MT11555 (Stix and Leaves Pueblo) are telling us. There is clearly a mid-tenth century
construction between 947 and 953 (Pithouse 2 and Kiva
K) and another in the late tenth century between 970 and 974 (Pithouse 1 and Kiva I).
And of course there is Kiva G in the mid 1050s. All of this overlies the late Pueblo I
roomblock, from which none of the samples dated. I am putting Kiva H in the mid 900s because
of its central location in relation to the roomblock . I think this evidence clearly helps fill in
the missing 900s. This leaves only a
thirty year gap in the known sequence from SW Colorado. This could easily be
filled in at another roomblock at S&L.
It looks to me like Pithouse 1 was built and occupied while beams were cut and stockpiled to build the Kivas I. The same was the case for Pithouse 2 and Kiva K.
